What types of fish can you catch during fishing in Seychelles and when is the best season for each?

The other day I was talking with a friend who went to the Seychelles and came back with wild stories about fishing there. He said it’s completely different from anything he tried before, and apparently you can catch huge species like marlin and sailfish. I’ve only done some casual fishing in lakes back home, so I can’t imagine what it feels like to fight something that size in the open ocean. Now I’m really curious, does anyone know what kind of fish you can usually expect to catch out there and which time of year is the best? I’d love to hear if there’s a particular season when the big ones show up more often.

From what I’ve experienced, the Seychelles are amazing because each season brings a slightly different adventure. When I went there, I booked one of the seychelles fishing charters, and they provided everything — a professional fishing crew, modern fishing equipment, even advice on which areas were best that week. It felt like a real ocean fishing safari since we were out for a full day on a fishing boat charter, and they made sure to practice catch & release tours so the marine life was protected. We managed to catch dorado and tuna in November, but the locals told us that April is prime time if you’re after sailfish and marlin.

I don’t have much knowledge about fishing itself, but I’ve always thought Seychelles looks like one of those places that would be worth visiting just for the scenery alone. The islands, clear water, and the whole tropical vibe make it feel like a dream destination, whether or not you’re actually into fishing.
