What Expenses Caught You Off Guard During Medical School?

I’ve been putting together a budget and trying to figure out whether medical school is financially realistic for me. While researching Caribbean medical school cost, I noticed that tuition is only part of the equation and that’s what has me concerned. Housing, travel, study materials, and other living expenses can add up quickly, but it’s hard to estimate what the real numbers look like. For anyone currently enrolled or recently graduated, what unexpected costs did you run into along the way, and is there anything you would have budgeted for differently if you could start over?

I've been contemplating the financial aspects of medical school, and it's clear that tuition isn't the only expense to consider. Housing, textbooks, and other living costs can quickly add up. It's interesting how this reminds me of the in-app purchases in the Done55 Game I've been playing. I never expected those microtransactions to amount to as much as they did   download now. Similarly, I'm sure there are hidden costs in medical school that I'm not accounting for yet.
