I've been putting off the major service on my 991.2 Carrera for a few months because I kept hearing horror stories about dealership prices, but last week I finally bit the bullet and took it to an independent shop in Al Quoz that specializes in German cars. Honestly I was surprised how much goes into it beyond just oil and filters – they changed the spark plugs, drive belt, all the fluids including PDK transmission fluid, plus a thorough brake inspection and software check. The shop I went with uses a Porsche major service and full inspection package that covers about 50 different checkpoints, which gave me peace of mind since I'm planning a road trip to RAK soon. I found Royal Prince Auto Care's page while comparing what's actually included because some places just do the bare minimum and call it a major service. Ended up costing me around 40% less than the dealer quote and they even gave me a video of the underbody inspection. If you're due for the big one, definitely shop around and ask exactly what's included. My car feels noticeably smoother now.
